3) Description: Left Profile of Model Ginny Gaylor
Publisher: No Idea
Date: 1962
Artist: Jack Faragasso
Notes: The back of the painting has the words "Model: Ginny Gaylor" written in black sharpie. This is the 1st and only time I've ever seen someone make a point of writing the cover model's name on back of the art, so I originally thought that maybe Faragasso painted her for fun. But the fact that he purposely left the standard empty area at the top for logo and type placement makes me feel it was at least INTENDED for publication. Also written in black sharpie are the initials T.W with Aug '62 beneath it, further demonstrating that it was at least INTENDED for publication.

From collector Gunnar Olsen of Denmark ... this paperback series was : "The Texas Book." It is a Danish translation of A Gun for Johnny Deere, by Wayne D. Overholser, and was printed in 1965. See the "TWINS" section of the BookScans database for my comments about Non-U.S. publishers using U.S. artwork. This case is different, however. This is a true reproduction of the painting, including the top half of Maguire's signature.
