Burgess does an excellent job bringing together much information about reference works in the field. He goes into bibliographical detail on hundreds of titles and tells the reader whether the compiler did a good job and how easy the title can be used. He makes comparisons with other like titles and recommends if you should buy a title or ignore it. Like many works of this type, it definitely needs an update. Indexes by author, title, and subject are provided to help the reader locate a work.
