In Search of Wonder
essays on modern science fiction
by Damon Knight
Advent: Publishers, Inc., Chicago, IL. April 1972 (Second Edition, Revised and Enlarged). Trade paperback. 306 pages. (5½ X 8½). Introduction to the First Edition by Anthony Boucher. Author’s notes by the author. Each chapter is devoted to an author or some branch of science fiction. Knight does a marvelous job showing why some authors are bad writers and why some books are filled with inconsistencies. Sometimes, the reviews and criticisms of Knight are more entertaining than the book being discussed. The original volume appeared in 1956. Highly recommended.
