Index to the Science Fiction Magazines
compiled by Jerry Boyajian and Kenneth R. Johnson
Twaci Press, Cambridge, Mass. The first issue was printed in May, 1981 and other annual listings were issued until February, 1985. The regular magazine index was published in the following order: 1980, 1979, 1981, 1978, 1977, 1982, 1982 (semi-professional), 1983, 1983 (semi-professional), and 1984. The page count averaged between 27 and 35 pages for each index. Each volume is printed 8½X11 and are saddle stapled. This series of publications was an attempt to continue on with an annual index of the SF magazines. Luckily, there were very few magazines being published at this time with the main ones being Analog, Amazing, Fantastic, Isaac Asimov’s Science Fiction, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Each issue consisted of a listing by contents, by author, by title, and an artists index. Also included was a listing by author of the SF that appeared in miscellaneous magazines such as Omni, Ellery Queen’s, Playboy, etc.
It would be nice to see something like this continued as a single volume covering from something like 1975 through the present.
