A History of the Hugo, Nebula, and International Fantasy Awards
by Donald Franson and Howard De Vore
Misfit Press, Dearborn, MI. April 1978. Booklet. 112 pages. (5¾ X 8½). Franson and DeVore do a good job of explaining the history and development of the rules concerning the major SF awards. The Hugo Awards started in 1953 and only listed the winners. By the year 1960, they started listing all nominees along with the winners. All winners were printed in boldface type. Howard DeVore published the latest information on these awards in 1998 and turned future work over to Advent: Publishers, Inc. Howard died on the last day of 2005.
