Silverberg gives an overview of drug themes in science fiction and mentions such titles as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and The Invisible Man as early examples. The main section of this publication is a bibliography of books and stories where drugs and drug use are an important part of the plot. Silverberg does a good job in giving complete information on the story and has annotated each item with pertinent facts. An index by author and title will help you locate certain items.
