By Bud Webster. Thick, trade paperback. The Merry Blacksmith Press, West Warwick, RI, 2010. 328 pages. Webster is a science fiction author, contributor of many articles about the genre, and an active member of the Yahoo Vintage Paperback Group, hosted by Curt Phillips. The book is incisive, easy-to-read and informative. It is about the many science fiction anthologies written during the vintage paperback era and beyond. He tends to be extremely factual, but follows up his explanations with a healthy dose of behind-the-scenes observation, introspection and opinion. A must-have for serious collectors of the genre. |
