The Pulp Era

edited by Lynn Hickman. Wauseon, OH. 1964-1975? This fanzine was published on a pretty irregular schedule, and achieved its greatest coverage of the field during 1966-1967. It was an outgrowth of the editor’s fanzine JD-Argassy. There were many fine articles covering the magazines, editors, and writers, with emphasis on the air pulps. Writers like Donald A. Wollheim, Dean Grennell, Robert A. W. Lowndes, and R. E. Briney contribute material on the different pulp magazines and writers. The best issue was probably No. 67. After this it became more irregular, with later issues being printed in a haphazard fashion. Recommended for the early issues.

Once again, many issues had modern pen & ink line drawings on full-page "plates," such as the one seen below, from issue #66.
