An Informal History of the Pulp Magazines

by Ron Goulart

Ace Books, New York. September 1973. Mass market paperback. 192 pages. (4 X 7). Preface by the author. This was originally published in hardcover as Cheap Thrills. Goulart tells an interesting, but brief, history of the pulps. Each chapter tells about a different phase of pulp publishing. There are several black-and-white illustrations of pulp magazines. The final few pages of the book have pulp writers discussing their writing careers. Enjoyable reading.
