by Philip José Farmer Doubleday & Company, Inc., Garden City, New York. 1973. Hardcover in dust jacket. 256 pages. (5¾ X 8½). Farmer does a great job in portraying the true story of Doc Savage, Jr. Doc Savage is presented as a real life individual. The many adventures of Doc are examined and Farmer discloses much information that you probably didn’t know before. Farmer presents a family tree showing that Savage was related to all of the great heroes and villains of history. Farmer tries to give a chronology of the Doc Savage’s adventures by placing them in their proper time frame. This book is rather like the one that Farmer did on the life of Tarzan. This is a fun book to read. Recommended.
