Bowling Green University Popular Press, Bowling Green, OH. 1982. Trade paperback. 254 pages. (8½ X 11). Preface by Edward T. LeBlanc. Introduction: The Missing Detective by the editor. The dime novels were a series of cheap publications that started around 1860 and ended around 1900. They were published on very flimsy paper and were discarded very quickly. This volume is a collection of stories from New York Detective Library, Old Cap Collier, Old Sleuth Library, Bob Brooks Library, and Secret Service. Each story is followed by a bibliography of the periodically. Much of the dialogue is printed in such a way that you may not be sure who is speaking at any particular time.
