1981, Blue Dolphin. Formerly published in Great Britain by Virgin Books under the title "The Book of Paperbacks." Translated from the Dutch by Josh Pachter. Trade sized paperback. 258 pages. This is the book that got me hooked on collecting these things. Probably one of the best books ever published on the subject. A clear, concise history of the genre, with emphasis on cover art, the artists, and the effect the art had on the reading public (and vice versa). Fully illustrated.
