Collectable Vintage Paperbacks at Auction

by Bryan Berry

Gordon Books, 1995. Trade sized paperback. This book is the result of four years of auctions by 16 auctions houses. At first, it looks as if it might be a good source for titles and editions numbers, but it's not. For example, it lists only 140 Armed services editions (there were over 1,300). Most books sold were of the "sleaze" variety (Beacon, Midwood, Century, etc). In addition, the books sold were generally in Absolute Fine condition, so it's probably not germane for most collectors. The only reason you might like to own this volume is to be able to point out something in your collection and tell people "This book once sold for a hundred bucks at auction !"
