According to Keating, these are possibly the best mystery books ever published. He confesses that these are probably the ones he enjoyed the most. They range from Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe to A Taste for Death by P. D. James. Each book is given a two-page review. The publisher of this book adds number 101 to the list by reviewing a book by Keating featuring Inspector Ghote. The book ends with an index. Nominated for an Edgar Award.
