Asimov wrote thousands of letters during his lifetime, and after his death, his brother Stanley was asked to put together a selection of letter excerpts by subject matter. Isaac had received and sent letters to many famous people, including Linus Pauling, Carl Sagan, Theodore H. White, Tom Smothers, and Woody Allen.
