Mexican Pulp Art

introduction by Maria Christina Tavera. Feral House, Los Angeles, CA. 2007. Trade paperback. 144 pages. (5½ X 8). Introduction by Maria Cristina Tavera. This is a very colorful collection of paintings that were used for covers in Mexican pulp magazines. They had very lurid images of dead people, witches, and all sorts of demon and otherworldly creatures. In comparison, the artwork was not as good as many of the artists who illustrated the American pulp magazines from the 1930s or 1940s. All of the paintings are from a defunct publishing company, Editorial Continental. (MexicanPulpArt)
