Illustration

Illustration is a magazine produced by Daniel Zimmer in St. Louis. Large periodical, about 8½" X 11", printed quarterly. About 80 pages. Profusely illustrated. Excellent articles. The "reissued" magazine have updated advertisements.

Issues 2 & 5 have an articles about Frank Frazetta. Issue 3: The Dell Mapbacks. Issue 10 contains articles on Rafael DeSoto and Mitchell Hooks. Issue 11 has a long article on Robert Bonfils.  Issue 12 includes R.G. Harris. And Issue 14 includes the work of A. Leslie Ross (a page from that article is also shown). Paperback illustrators are represented in many issues.

I highly recommend this magazine. You can order back copies or a subscription by following the link on my "Links" page.

NOTE: There are few publications that begin to appreciate in value immediately after issue, but this is one of them. Some back issues sell for well over $100.
