Harlan Ellison

A Bibliographical Checklist

compiled by Leslie Kay Swigart.

Williams Publishing Co., Dallas, TX. 1973. Saddle-stitched in a magazine format. 118 pages. (8¼ X 10¾). Preface by the compiler. There are a number of appreciations by Isaac Asimov, Ben Bova, Edward Bryant, Joanna Russ, Robert Silverberg, and James Sutherland. Swigart does a very nice job of presenting the writings of Ellison up to about the middle of 1973. There are several pages of Harlan at different stages in his life and career. The bibliography covers books, scripts, stories, articles, introductions, reviews, published letters, interviews, fanzines edited by Harlan, and those books mentioned by Ellison that were never published. All fields of Harlan’s writings are covered, not just SF. There are many black-and-white reproductions of covers from paperbacks and magazines. This was a great piece of work in its day, but you will probably find a more complete bibliography on Ellison’s website. Recommended if you can find a copy. The original edition sells for anywhere from $95.00 to $150.00 on the Internet. My copy was 654 of 1000 copies and I only paid $3.00.
