Schweitzer pretty well covers the life and writings of Lovecraft, with much discussion of stories like “The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath,” “The Call of Cthulhu,” and “Pickman’s Model.” Schweitzer isn’t afraid to point out the bad stories and question Lovecraft’s writing abilities. The author points out that it was August Derleth who developed the idea of the Cthulhu Mythos. There are many interesting things to read in this short critical booklet. Recommended.
