by Stephen D. Korshak & J. David Spurlock. Vanguard Productions and Shasta Phoenix, Coral Gables, FL. 2013. Large oversized hardcover in dust jacket. Colored boards identical to jacket. 184 pages. B&W and full color illustrations throughout. Big, flashy, well constructed book with heavy page stock. Illustrations are often full-page, and include pulp magazine covers and original art, as well as many photographs. The writing is in-depth, interesting, and often startling. Ms. Brundage was one of those "larger than life" figures whose career and activities surprises even today. The book deals with not only her prolific magazine art, but her work with various "radical" causes, including labor and civil rights movements. If your home library includes books on important pulp artists, this is definitely a "must have." Most highly recommended.
