by David Saunders.

The Illustrated Press, St. Louis, MO, 2014. Oversized hardcover in dust jacket. 224 pages. The first 100 copies are numbered and signed by Saunders.

Photographs, sketches, original artwork, pulp and other magazine covers. Saunders, of course, is the son of pulp artist Norman Saunders, and he's become a leading author on the history of pulp art.

The book is very distinctive, and rich in history and detail. Baumhofer is primarily remembered for two things: his Doc Savage covers and his often outrageous "Weird Menace" covers for Dime Mystery and other pulps. But his covers and interior illustrations for Thrilling Publications and other numerous "slick" magazine showed a tremendous diversity.

I highly recommend this book.
