by Russell Miller
Henry Holt and Company, New York. 1987. Hardcover in dust jacket. 390 pages. (6¼ X 9¼). Author’s Note, Introduction, and Preface by the author. Hubbard was one of the most prolific pulp fiction writers of the 1930s and 1940s. Russell paints an unpleasant picture of the life of Hubbard, showing him to be in constant trouble with the law and his promotion of Dianetics and Scientology as a way of life. The Church of Scientology was very much against the release of this book.
