As the BookScans Database has grown, the necessity of consolidation became inevitable. There are simply too many publishers (especially beginning around 1970) to list appropriately. In an effort to better serve those viewers looking for specific types of books, I've broken out this stand-alone group. The problem is that major publishing houses did not stick to one particular genre. As a result, while the publishers you see listed here might specialize in Religion and other philosophical concepts, you will see other types of books as well. A larger number of these books were "Trade-Sized" paperbacks. Other prevalent subject matter includes history, biography and various other non-fiction offerings. There is also a work of fiction interspersed here and there, especially in the form of anthologies. I will be adding more publishers to this section in the future. *
This folder contains Harper & Row, Harper Classics,
Harper Colophon and Harper Perennial. All the other Harper
folders contain Harper Torchbook. NOTE: While the Collier "AS/BS series" conforms to the "Philosophy" intent of this section, the five-digit Collier series does not. That was made up primarily of mass market Mystery & Science Fiction offerings, but I've left them here.
The BookScans Database does not include images of books printed after 1979.
