I can find very little information on this publisher. The first printing of their first book (Let's Make Mary) was unnumbered. It was distributed in 1948. Afterwards, books were numbered consecutively, and there was no differentiation in numbering between their 25¢ and higher-priced volumes.

There was a gap between #48 and #100, and the highest numbered book in the Hillman series is #205, printed in 1961. There were a few lettered books ("SP," "C," & "F"), which were interspersed numerically.

Their mix of books ran the entire gamut, from Sci-Fi to cartoon books to romance. Lots of westerns. Sleaze books were also plentiful. Cover art tended to be extremely good, since they hired some of the period's top artists.

NOTE: Hillman was acquired by Macfadden in 1961. There were a few "Hillman Books" with Macfadden numbering, which I've but in that publisher's database. Click HERE.
